Weber HVAC 6834 Cantrell Road Suite #1016 Little Rock, AR 72207 (501) 725-6432 Arkansas is generally a subtropical climate with dry, cool winters and hot summers with high humidity levels. During July, temperatures in Little Rock are known to peak at highs of 34 degrees Centigrade. The winters can be quite chilly and lows of up to -5 degrees Centigrade have been experienced. Many homes and organizations have air-conditioning units installed. These units need frequent service and maintenance in order for them to function optimally. Complete breakdowns of the air conditioning systems are not uncommon. In order to save costs by avoiding unnecessary expenditure, it is important to have prior knowledge of what to check before engaging the services of an air conditioning expert. 1. Power Connection and Circuit Breaker A power surge could cause the circuit breaker to trip though a normal one snaps back on after the surge is resolved. In case the breaker is faulty, it should be replaced. There is also the possibility that there could be a power blackout in the neighborhood and no electrical power to the unit. These possibilities should be ruled out. 2. Filters Airflow to the air conditioner is of vital importance to its optimal function and as such, the air filters should be replaced regularly. The units usually have filters at the return air grill and air handler. Dirty air filters tend to choke the unit and may cause it to malfunction. It is important to check the position of the unit. If the air handler is tucked in a corner or inside a closet, it may choke the airflow to the air-conditioning unit and cause it not to perform optimally. 3. Thermostat and Humidistat The thermostats battery should be checked and if they are dead, they should be replaced. The thermostat settings should be set to the users comfort levels. It is important to avoid changing the temperature settings up and down all the time as this may damage the compressor due to overheating. In order to protect the compressor, some units have time delay protection circuits to protect it. Many units do not have humidistats but it should be checked in case it is part of the unit. 4. Emergency Drain Pan and Drain System Usually if the air handler drains pan fills up, the overflow spills into the emergency pan which has an overflow switch. The switch shuts down the unit until the pan is drained. If all the above items are intact, it may be necessary to call the service repairman. It is imperative that regular maintenance is carried out on the unit to ensure its optimal function. Maintenance of the air-conditioning unit should be done at least annually. There are many established and reputable air conditioner technicians available in Little Rock, Arkansas. Older units need at least two or three maintenance sessions per year. Regular maintenance of the air-conditioning unit ensures that breakdowns are infrequent or do not occur at all. #AirConditioningRepairLittleRock #HVACLittleRock
